Piney Redwood Disc 5'11"

$ 0.00

This little pin tail disc has style. The wide point is slightly forward, and it has a round nose. We've mostly surfed this shape in larger waves, and it's a rocket. It's very responsive and likes quick turns and down-the-line speed.

This is a fun, lightweight, hollow little beauty made from pine offcuts and old growth redwood floorboards reclaimed from the historic Schwan mansion in Santa Cruz, California. The wood was milled here in the late 1800s and is over 1000 years old.

It has a thruster fin setup with fins of balsa which were offcuts from a model boat project. The fin stripes are made from mahogany plywood taken from the transom of an old Zodiac inflatable boat used for SCUBA diving. The nose is punctuated with a dot of abalone inlay and, like all Ventana boards, this one is glassed with Entropy Bio Resin and uses two sheets of 4 ounce fiberglass cloth on the top and one on the bottom.

The top and bottom have the same design, but the wood is reversed on each side for a beautiful effect.

Made in Santa Cruz, California by master craftsman Martijn Stiphout.

Dimensions: 5'11' x 21' x 2.375'

Each board comes with a special edition of our standard Save-a-Surf Wax Box. This version includes two vent plug screws for your new surfboard!
