Redwood Treefish Longboard 9'0"

The top deck incorporates the same redwood as the bottom and has an inlay inspired by Mexican design elements and made of Indian rosewood and spruce offcuts from the Santa Cruz Guitar Company.
The tail on the bottom deck is inlayed with a strip of abalone shell from Northern California, and the top deck tail has an inlay of guitar face purfling. The tail block, leash plug and vent plug are of claro walnut offcuts from a local cabinet shop.
The fin has translucent "roots" extending from the base of the Treefish. It is made of redwood floorboards from the historic Schwann Mansion in Santa Cruz, California. The Victorian was built of locally milled, old growth wood in the late 1800's, and these clear grain, heart redwood floorboards served the residents through the early 2000's when the house was torn down. The wood is at least 1000 years old.
Nail holes in the wood were filled with brass using a secret Ventana process. That process was also used to inlay the 11 in the tail, a number with special meaning to Liz.
The rails are made of U.S grown oak cork, and it was glassed with Entropy Super Sap 100 Bio Resin and 4oz. fiberglass cloth (two layers on top and one on bottom). As with all Ventana boards, the interior is glassed and sealed, as well.
