Ventana Sea Salt by Salt Saloon
The Ventana Sea Salt collection was created and packaged by Salt Saloon, a small business in Capitola, California. Salt Saloon used only natural, unrefined, organic sea salt from Northern California. Salt Saloon's owner, Beverly Connelly, created the Ventana blends and the beautiful labels.
There are three, Ventana surf-themed flavors of Northern California sea salt in 2 ounce jars:
- So Pitted: smoked pit bbq sea salt ($12.50 ea.)
- Plank: mixed with organic black pepper ($10.50 ea.)
- Barrel: pure sea salt ($8.50 ea.)
Responsibility
Salt Saloon's mission says it all "For Oceans' Sake." They aim to enhance people's lives by sourcing and providing the very best sea salts from around the world. Salt Saloon is a local, women-owned business, that gives back to ocean conservation groups: Surfrider Foundation and Oceana. These salts are packaged in glass jars … no single-use plastics!
Why sea salt? Typical table salt is refined, often with additives we don't need or want. Unrefined sea salt has not been bleached and doesn't have additives. It often has less sodium and more minerals that our body craves and needs. It's tastier and flavor enhancing, as well.
